Poem II

“Died so young.” A phrase clichŽ,
Let us pause, analyze what it may say.
“They were young and haven’t yet learned
The things I feel, see, and earn,
(the focus is on an inward turn).
The odd universal belief:
The way I see things others will see
In time those not in accord with me
Will understand what I know and start to rethink.
Tragedy of lost youth, “They never saw it my way.”
“Died so young.” Thus we are forced to say.
